Download Troubleshooting: Under certain circumstances, the file that you receive may end with the extension ".pl". The file is actually encoded as a .sit.hqx file. Opening it with StuffIt Expander or Deluxe will extract the update correctly, as will renaming the file with a filename such as "Alsoft.sit" and then expanding it.

Also, you can make sure that your browser is set up to properly handle BinHex archives. In Internet Explorer, for example, there is an option to "Automatically decode BinHex files" under Download Options. In Netscape Navigator/Communicator, make sure that under helper applications, you have it set to handle MIME types of "application/mac-binhex40" with StuffIt Expander.
